Japanese Sword NINJA Black Damascus Folded Steel Blade Full Tang Sharp. The blade is fully hand-forged, hand-polished and hand-sharpened by our experienced smith in the most traditional Japanese craftsmanship way. A special clay is applied to the blade by hand, using a thin covering near the edge and a thicker layer over the rest of the blade. After the process of quenching (relatively quicker cooling of the edge), the blade has hard edge and softer back.
The blade is in full-tang which greatly enhances the strength of the whole sword. The blade is strong enough to cut a thick tree and sharp enough to slice paper. The blade has been special treated black acid which create black on the blade to increase the aesthetic vlaue of the sword as a whole.
The black acid does not affect the quality or functionality of the blade. This tsuba (guard) of the sword is made of Iron with two Copper Seppas to put on each side of it (spacer securing it). The Habaki (blade collar) is of brass composition.This Tsuka is made of hard wood, wrapped with genuine ray skin, and tied with real silk ITO in the traditional wrap style. The Fuchi (sleeve) and Kashira (buttcap) on the tsuka are made of alloy with matching Menuki on each side as an ornament, two Mekugi (peg) are nailed to secure the Tang of the sword. Sword can be disassembled by picking up the two Mekugi (peg). This saya (sheath) of the sword is hard wooden and lacquered superior paint to highly gloss the surface of it.
The Sage-O is tied around the Kurikaka (knob) of the saya, the Koiguchi (scabbard mouth) and Kojiri (scabbard tip) has been hardened. 1: The sword is well assembled with saya and free silk bag!
