An Early American Hatchet/Adze Combo. Hand Forged Iron & Hardwood! Replete with excellent patina, this museum-ready late 1700s or early 1800s hatchet is a beautiful show piece! Made from hand-forged iron and dense hardwood (perhaps beech), this sharp hatchet and pointed adze is yet perfectly functional! The wooden handle appears to have been wrapped in leather at one point, perhaps for grip or for decoration.
