Offered for your careful review and consideration is this rare and absolutely fantastic hand-forged, cut-out,'CP' initialed, cast iron, western Americana cattle branding iron, with a turned wooden handle. It remains completely untouched and hasn't been cleaned, oiled or even dusted.
It boasts naturally aged, oxidized surfaces and is complete, without any material loss to any of the edges of the cast iron brand or to the turned wooden handle. The branding iron features 2 high case capital letters'C' and'P. They are supported and connected to the metal capped wooden handle by two curved square stock wrought iron extending arms. The branding iron has great form and wonderful surfaces, naturally fatigued and oxidized over time from repeated use.
The turned wooden handle has a drilled out hole in its end, to allow for rawhide or cord to be fastened to the end as a hanging device for storage and easy retrieval.
