Original Reids Philadelphia Wooden/Cast Iron Hand Crank Butter Worker Box. You are looking at a vintage butter worker box. I have an ad pictured from 1894 showing a box like this. There are graphics on all 4 sides / pictured. The way I understand this item, It was used to remove the last of the buttermilk mixed with the butter.

There is a small hole in the corner to let it drain out. You could also at this time mix salt into the butter. It is 32 long X 21 wide plus crank X 10 tall. The paddle/wheel moves freely up and down the teeth. It does need oil as while it does move freely, it makes noise. I did not clean or oil this item. It is original and looks to be in the same condition as it was made over 120 years ago. I had to ask what this item was as very unusual. It is large and heavy. The pictures should show details and condition.
